I am me..I am not perfect but improving and learning constantly. like everyone I have had trying moments in life and have learnt from every single one and choose not to call them mistakes. Last relationship spanned 23 years and am fortunate to have a fantastic and caring son. Most of my life I have been very fortunate and greatful to have had special aqaintances with many animals and inparticular Thoroughbred racehorses. I have recently been described as having a heart bigger than Phar Lap, very optomistic, happy, genuine and honest.. however my great circle of friends like to have a glass of wine or two.. I enjoy opening the car door for the one who accompanies me. Prone to pack some cheese, wine, savouries and adventure to somewhere scenic and relax. I am above all patient, calm, enduring and understanding of the yin/yang relationship in all circumstances. I do consider myself an "Old Romantic" at heart and cherish special moments and occasions where lasting memories are made. I am very fortunate and love my new journey helping creatures recover from ill fated injuries whether they be 2 or 4 legged and always treat others as I myself would like to be treated injuries whether they be 2 or 4 legged and always treat others as I myself would like to be treated I am always happy to hold hands and not afraid of display affection even in public when the urge arises. Happy with who I am internally and always trying to expand and grow in this area, love all outdoor activities, a good meal and bottle of wine, long drives (maybe to a winery), the odd beer or cocktail is good too, enjoy a good coffee by the ocean on Sunday morning's or any time for that matter and enjoy watching a good movie or DVD on the lounge.

I am looking for a woman who will be my wife, partner, friend and lover. I am a retired businessman living a peaceful, interesting life in a beautiful part of the world – in the state of Tasmania in Australia. I have a comfortable, peaceful, civilised lifestyle surrounded by natural beauty. I don't need to worry about money, my health is good, I am free to travel, I spend my time doing the things I enjoy. Life is good, but the problem is that I find myself alone, with no one to love and to share my life with. These days I am happy living the simple life, but I would not describe myself as a simple person. When I was a child, I lived in China (I was born in Harbin – my parents were Russian), Brazil, the USA and since 1960 in Australia. In my 20s I spent several years travelling all over Australia. Later I travelled to many countries for business and for pleasure. I think I have investigated more lifestyle options than most people. I have been married twice. The first marriage ended in divorce in 1993 after we had been together for 13 years. Then I met a wonderful Chinese woman, from Guangdong, and we eventually married in 2003. We were very happy together, but she died in 2014. That is why I am alone now. I am interested in art, design, music, travel, cooking and eating interesting food, a healthy lifestyle, spirituality, reading, boating, various sporting activities, gardening, nature, animals, real estate and investment. At the moment my main interest is looking for a woman to love. I would like to think that I am dependable, reliable, supportive, loyal, faithful, sensible, practical, reasonable, mature, young at heart, healthy, kind, compassionate, resilient, persistent, creative, tolerant, considerate, responsible, cheerful, good humoured, fun loving, optimistic, positive. Since coming to Tasmania in 2006, I have been living on a rural property just 30 minutes away from the centre of the capital city, Hobart. Tasmania is an unusual place because it is possible to actually live here permanently, comfortably, and economically in a natural, beautiful, unpolluted, uncrowded, safe, politically stable environment, with a pleasant climate all year round and still be close to a real city with good schools, hospitals, a university, an active Chinese community, restaurants, museums, art galleries (Hobart is the home to the famous MONA), cultural events and an international airport. I recently bought a second property in a place called Kettering, also just 30 minutes from Hobart. It overlooks the yacht harbour and has views out across the water to the neighbouring Bruny Island, an indoor swimming pool and a tennis court. The house needed some renovation but when that is finished, it will be like a holiday resort. I am quite familiar with Chinese culture. I have many Chinese friends in Sydney and in Tasmania, my business partner was from Shanghai and I have some (in-law) relatives in China. I visited China briefly in 1989 and then travelled around China in 2003 and 2005. I am a great admirer of, and have made an effort to understand, Chinese tea and Tai Ji. I practice Gong Fu Cha all the time, but don't practice Tai Ji nearly enough. I am a big fan of the Chinese dating show from Nanjing, 非诚勿扰. In Australia this show is called “If You are the One”, but I believe the literal translation is "If not sincere then do not disturb". Well, I am sincere, and if you think that I may be the one for you, please contact me.

Hey! Thanks for having a look, now to try to keep your attention eh? Well here goes.... My profile in four words or less?? Okay here: Teacher, animals, outdoors... charming! Still reading? Okay, here I go; I'm Damian but most people call me Day (nice to meet you btw!) For the last three years I have called Albury home, in return, this town is allowing me to study education so that I can become a teacher -- -- Yes, a male teacher (insert stigma here). I moved to Albury after living in Japan for a couple of years working as one of those 'English Teachers', as that's pretty much the only employment a foreigner can get. Starting off and in all honesty, I absolutely hated the first month and wondered just how anyone could even ponder teacher as a profession. As time went by (as time goes by....) I fell in love with teaching and really enjoyed how everyday really is different - On a Monday they be an angel, and on the Tuesday they can be a nightmare... Anyhow,it's for me. When my life doesn't involve study or my casual employment, I enjoy being outdoors, trying to keep up with my hyperactive dog - I like almost all types of animals, recently stepping up my interest by fostering dogs until they find their 'forever home', which results in double the trouble - but it's definitely worth it... until it's time to say goodbye. Any person you meet that tells you they don't get attached to the dog they look after is a liar! Apart from all that stuff, I don't live life seriously. Being happy, making jokes and being able to laugh at yourself is pretty much me. I am that person you who likes to listen to how your day has been, that wants to know you're not a 100% and that wants to put a smile on your face.e to meet someone to chat to :-)
