Divorced ) no children but two step daughters. Like dogs (but he died) and now I have a new Greyhound (rescued) and gardening (but live in an apartment) and anything involving the ocean. Interested in cultural pursuits. Travelled a lot and I like to travel sometimes now too. Hmm, I can relocate progressively to another country. I do like Thailand and Philippines, totally different countries but each good in their own way. And I have been to both many times. I like parts of Europe (Spain, Finland in particular). I could easily live in south of Europe (Mediterranean climate), Thailand or Philippines. . I am close to retirement and so I have nothing to hold me in Australia. Apart from the fact that I have now swum in every ocean (except Arctic) and most of the well known seas and some of the biggest Gulfs, I have two goals I would like to achieve: Amtrak across the USA; and top of some of the mountains in South America. as well as Kampuchea. Beaches I love but I do not travel for the second best when the whitest cleanest and sunniest are near my home town. I prefer mountains and province people. My first wife (25 years) was anglo-indian;. The second Russian from Finland). I can cobble together some basic questions in Russian but my skill is less than simple. I learned French at school and I guess I can cobble together some basic French but simple. I suppose the same goes for Italian (I learned Latin at school). Apart from learning some simple phrases it has not been necessary for me to use any language other than English in Europe or South and South East Asia. I have travelled extensively in Europe (Finland, Russia Ukraine Germany Poland France UK Spain Turkey Italy. Also Morocco and throughout Asia (India New Zealand Singapore Malaysia Indonesia Philippines Thailand China Hong Kong). I have not been to any of the Americas.. I have a great interest in History and antiques. Chinese; Russian; Orthodox; and Art/photography (French and Chinese and Philippines fabrics).Whenever I travel somewhere new I bring back some goodies: glass from Russia; silver from Chinese Malaysians (straits Chinese) Art from Hong Kong; Crosses from Eastern Europe; and Ukraine; Photography from Paris...and the list goes on. There is always something to do: Tear gas on me in Hong Kong; machine guns pointed at me in Kashmir, and Red Square (well actually the plaza the other side). This was not done in anger but it was unusual. And so, if you like to taste the unusual and see the unusual it would be great to share it.
